what's virtual disk or drive

A virtual disk (also known as a virtual drive or a RAM drive) is a file that represents as a physical disk drive to a guest operating system. The file may be configured on the host and also on a remote file system. The user can install a new operating system onto the virtual disk without repartitioning the physical disk or rebooting the host machine.

Alternatively referred to as a virtual disk or disc or disk emulator, a virtual drive is a non-existing drive that does not physically exist in the computer. For example, a common use of a virtual drive is to make a virtual CD or DVD drive from a directory or ISO image of a disc and be able to play games without inserting the CD or DVD.

so you can download programms like daemon tools or slysoft that are virtual drives.
i use virtual drives to load quick and easy iso files(mostly games) and install them directly like i have a dvd
